Salons Raise over $1,200 for New African Journey Zoo Exhibit

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

EYE PRO, Inc. — makers of WINK-EASE and VIEWkeepers and world leader in disposable eyewear recently donated $1,200 to the new African Journey exhibit at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo – thanks to salons from all over the country.

The new African Journey exhibit at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo will immerse visitors in the sights, sounds, culture, and wildlife of the amazing African continent.  Entering through a tunnel, visitors emerge into an African oasis. Key features include a lion exhibit, a Savannah Trail, new animal exhibits, and an entirely new system of interactive, educational, and cultural experiences.(www.KidsZoo.org).

“Our zoo is one of the Top 10 Children’s Zoos in the USA,” said EYE PRO president, Brenda Fishbaugh. “Thanks to the support of our products, we’ve been able to donate to organizations and help rescue endangered and exotic animals worldwide for over a decade.”

EYE PRO notified their “V-EYE-P” salon members by email, asking them to vote for their favorite animal.  Any salon that voted received a FREE zippie with samples of WINK-EASE and VIEWkeepers disposable eyewear and Fresh-Ease refreshing body cloths for after tanning. EYE PRO contributed $3 for every vote cast.

The African Journey includes animals never before exhibited in Fort Wayne, including hyenas, honey badgers, servals, and mongoose, plus opportunities to be nose-to-nose with a 500-pound lion (through 2-inch safety glass) and hand-feed a giraffe. “There is nothing like having a giraffe’s tongue take a carrot out of your hand!” exclaimed Fishbaugh. “I’ve done it — and what a great experience this is for kids and adults alike!”

Heartland staff and EYE PRO help local animal sanctuary

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

A Christmas gift came early this year to EYE PRO and Black Pine Animal Park when EYE PRO President Brenda Fishbaugh was visiting Heartland Distributors’ Georgia location.

During Brenda’s eye education training, she had shared dozens of photos of rescued endangered animals, all of which were rescued with the tanning industry’s help.  Afterwards, the staff presented Brenda with a Christmas card.  “When I opened the card, dollar bills fell out onto the floor!” exclaimed Fishbaugh.  “The Georgia Heartland staff had donated $140 of their own money towards our endangered animal rescues!  I was absolutely stunned!”

The Georgia Heartland team, led by John Fromme, asked Brenda to donate the funds to her favorite animal charity.  Brenda chose Black Pine Animal Park in Albion, Indiana.  “Heartland’s donation is very helpful for Black Pine, who relies on donations to feed dozens of tigers, bears, lions and other rescued or retired circus performers.  Winter is always a challenging time financially,” explained Fishbaugh.  “Although we personally work with a half dozen organizations around the world, we have worked closely with this exotic animal sanctuary for over a decade and I used to be a tour guide there. What an incredible gift!”

Mo-vember donation from EYE PRO helps cancer research

Monday, December 15th, 2008

No, it’s not a typo.  EYE PRO, Inc. , makers of WINK-EASE and VIEWkeepers and world leader in disposable eyewear, helped to support a fundraiser that started in Australia called “Movember.”  Movember is held in the month of November, and men start out clean-shaven.  “Mo Bros” grow a moustache all month, collecting donations for their efforts, which goes to support prostate cancer research.

EYE PRO was contacted by famous tiger handler, Patrick Martin-Vegue, who manages Tiger Island in Australia. All the tiger handlers formed a team to raise funds.  EYE PRO President Brenda Fishbaugh said, “The EYE PRO girls were happy to contribute to such a fun event on the other side of the world, while helping to support cancer research.”

Martin-Vegue rewarded the Wink-Ease women (called “Mo Sistas”) with a photo of him and his moustache.  His note said, “Here is a photo of me with my pathetic moustache.  I hope it can raise a bit of money and raise awareness for a very worthy cause.”

For more information about Movember or to donate, go to www.movember.com and type in Patrick’s name.  For more information on Tiger Island, go to www.dreamworld.com.   For more information on EYE PRO’s decade of animal rescues, go to www.EyePro.net and click on the photo gallery.  For information on EYE PRO and WINK-EASE and VIEWkeepers disposable eyewear and Fresh-Ease Refreshing Body Cloths for after tanning, plus other great educational information regarding eye protection, visit www.EyePro.net or call EYE PRO at 1-800-726-8322.

Eye Pro Arranges Behind-The-Scenes Zoo Tour

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Indoor tanning professionals enjoyed a rare glimpse of Tacoma, Wash.-based Point Defiance Zoo’s endangered clouded leopards during a behind-the-scenes tour arranged by Brenda Fishbaugh, president of Eye Pro, Inc. The company sponsors Point Defiance Zoo and the clouded leopard project.

Mark Monopoli, Joyce Monopoli and Liz Perkins of Tan West International, Denaye Narte of Fiji Blend, Scott Eggers of Australian Gold and Danielle Ardito of Performance Brands, Inc. joined Fishbaugh and Point Defiance tiger handler Andy Goldfarb for the tour.

“We were all able to pet Yukon, a Canadian lynx that Eye Pro purchased for the zoo four years ago,” Fishbaugh says. “Yukon is part of the education program at the zoo and visits local schools in the area, and also performs in the award-winning Wild Wonders program.”

Eye Pro is a regular contributor to zoos and animal sanctuaries around the world, and a portion of every sale at the company goes to help exotic and endangered animals.
