Making the Switch to ONLY SELLING Eye Protection

IST_cover_3.15Interestingly, in salons that require tanners to buy their own eye protection, MORE tanners wear it – about 70 percent! Why the increase? The answer is two-fold: 1) They feel their own eye protection is cleaner, thus safer, and 2) Before buying their own, they were educated about why it’s important. If you decide to only sell eye protection, more of your tanners will actually wear it; so you’ll be providing a great service AND limiting your liability if their eyes were damaged during unprotected UV sessions because of lack of eye protection.

“Eye Pro has gone a different training direction this season.  We have shortened our FREE on-demand training and made it a lot more fun – providing colorful Facebook and Twitter promos for salons to “share” with their tanners and offering a great, FREE kit for salon celebrations”, explained Brenda Fishbaugh, EYE PRO president.

“Social media has become a fantastic way to send out a quick message, promote and connect with others in the industry”, said Jackie DeWald, EYE PRO office manager.  “One of the best parts about social media is that it is FREE! With so many challenges facing our salon customers, it is important to make every dollar count. Eye Pro created pre-made pro-tanning ads that are quick shares on Facebook and Twitter.  It is a fun way to present eye protection while also still keeping the importance of  eyewear on the front line to the customer,” she explained. “Look for our weekly tanning tips and inspiring tanning photos. We even have some new 15-30 second You Tube videos that are great to view and share, with relevant info like how to fold our product into a cone to all great visibility, lots of eyelash room and minimize tan lines,” she concluded.
