April 1, 2014 – Eye Pro, Inc., world leader in eyewear and makers of Ultra Gold Wink-Ease, Viewkeepers, Wink-Ease Dark and Fresh-Ease announces one of the biggest changes of the New Ultra Gold Wink-Ease.
“We are SO excited about the improved Ultra Gold Wink-Ease, “ said Brenda Fishbaugh, president of Eye Pro. “The new improved visibility of the product is amazing — salons and tanners alike are loving it! Tanners are now able to see much more clearly in the bed to run the controls/fans — as well as now play games and text & tan on their phones.”
The New Ultra Gold Wink-Ease not only has improved visibility, but also has improved adhesive and a thicker material used to create the product. With the new eyewear slightly thicker, it makes it easier to fold into a cone. You have to try it – SEEING is BELIEVING! New Ultra Gold Wink-Ease is getting RAVE reviews in the salons!

As seen in February issue of IST Magazine….
As Office Manager at Eye Pro, Inc., Jackie DeWald handles a variety of the eye protection maker’s administrative duties, such as shipping and receiving, production and raw materials as well as purchasing, public relations and much more. While all this keeps her busy, Jackie likes it that way. She also loves being a part of the small Eye Pro family, of which she’s been a member for 15 years. Such steadfastness is not uncommon for her, as Jackie has a tendency to remain close to those she holds dear for long periods of time. Why loyalty is so important to her is something IST Magazine had to find out …

Providing Re-Useable Goggles is Not Always the Best Option…
Whenever I present a seminar about eye protection to a group of salon operators, nearly half of my audience tells me they provide their guests with “community” goggles, free of charge. They say that they feel it is the key to eliminating excuses for not wearing eyewear. Then I ask them, “Okay, you’re loaning your guests goggles at no charge, but how many do you sincerely believe are wearing them during their sessions?” The answer: “Half. Half of them wear eye protection.”

Julie George, owner of 26 Club Sun salons in southern Alabama and northwestern Florida, knows how important it is to promote the use of eye protection to her guests. “I’ve been in the tanning business for three decades; I have been certified a number of times and so have my staff members. Over the years, we needed to devise a method to take the message we learned in certification about eye protection directly to our tanners.”

I recently visited a well-known salon chain to train their staff on the importance of eye protection. The owner proudly told me that they INSISTED all their tanners use eye protection – that the concept was “pounded into their clients’ heads.” I looked around the gorgeous salon. And I looked again. There was not one sign posted to indicate that eyewear must be worn during tanning sessions. There was a basket of eye protection at the front counter, but it was pretty much obscured from view. I did notice signs all over the place promoting lotion usage and the salon’s membership program. Oh, and nicely displayed goodie bags showing the week’s “featured item.”

I recently visited a new tanning salon, and heard a guest say to the staff, “I don’t need eyewear. I just close my eyes.” Sadly, the salon employee answered, “Bed 14 is ready!” and that was that. Here are some strategies for convincing your salon guests that closing their eyes during a tanning session is NOT enough…

EYE PRO, Inc., world leader in eyewear and makers of Original WINK-EASE, VIEWkeepers, Fresh-Ease and Wink-Ease Dark, have created a new improved WINK-EASE eye protection called Ultra Gold WINK-EASE
“We have been in the eye protection business since 1985 with our ‘original’ WINK-EASE product,” said EYE PRO President Brenda Fishbaugh. “It was time to make a few product improvements, including improving the adhesive, visibility and ease of assembly. All of these amazing enhancements — and the product still has a complete UV block! “continued Fishbaugh.
“The new Ultra Gold Wink-Ease, like the original product, is fantastic for stand-up units as well as traditional beds. The improved visibility is amazing – you can read a few text messages or emails while tanning.” Fishbaugh explained. “We are excited we were able to provide such a wonderful ‘new’ product — and keep the same great price.” she concluded.

These six words can ultimately affect both the profitability of your business and the long-term health of your tanners. I always recommend you ask each salon guest about their eyewear with this specific wording, as it is very polite, and because the only way your guest can respond is by showing you her eyewear. If she starts to panic because she doesn’t have it, jump in quickly and ask, “Forgot it today? We have a sale on this very inexpensive goggle, or we have disposable, one-time-use eye protection for just fifty cents.”
