2011 IST Industry Choice Awards Nominee

EYE PRO, Inc. — makers of WINK-EASE and VIEWkeepers and world leader in disposable eyewear, received four Industry Choice Award nominations for 2011. The nominees were announced in the November issue of  Island Sun Times magazine.

Thousands of Island Sun Times readers chose this year’s recipients as the favorite in each category. Salons voted the original Wink-Ease and the premiere Viewkeepers as their favorite eye protection, and Wink-Ease received another nod of approval as Favorite Salon Accessory. EYE PRO was also voted a favorite in the category of Salon Support/Favorite Training Program.

Past wins for EYE PRO include “Favorite Retail Accessory,” “Favorite Eye Protection,” and “Favorite Training Program.”

“We are thrilled to be nominated ‘Favorite Training Program’ again this year,” said EYE PRO President Brenda Fishbaugh. “We’re super-excited about this year’s training, and already have heard from several salon owners who have liked our training so well that they’re going to make it a required part of any new staff training,” Fishbaugh continued. “Owners love the online, pre-recorded version, so all employees can receive training based on their schedule, and become more knowledgeable on the damage from tanning without eyewear,” she concluded.

In just 45 minutes, salons can learn all about eye protection, including information about Wink-Ease Dark, EYE PRO’s new eye protection product for Red Light Therapy. But it wouldn’t be an EYE PRO training without FREE goodies too!  Right now, participants receive Norvell’s Tan Perfect Pen ($10 retail value) and EYE PRO’s new 8-page “Tanner’s Guide to Eye Protection,” samples of EYE PRO’s Wink-Ease and Viewkeepers disposable eye protection and Fresh-Ease refreshing body cloths, as well as EYE PRO’s famous “gory eyes” counter mat to share with tanners.

To view the pre-recorded training, all you need is a computer with high speed internet access. Since it’s a pre-recorded version, salons pick the day and time to view — anytime, anywhere — 24/7! (go to www.EyePro.net and and click on “Free online training” or click here to go there now).

 EYE PRO 2012 Animal Collage

October 1, 2011— EYE PRO, Inc., world leader in eyewear and makers of WINK-EASE, VIEWkeepers, and Fresh-Ease is gearing up for season – the giving season that is!

‘Tis the Season to Give,’ and EYE PRO is proud to give back to the indoor tanning family that has been their home for 22 years.  “We heard a lot from salons helping our soldiers overseas this year,” said Jackie DeWald, Office Manager at EYE PRO.  “We are honored to have sent 1,000 Fresh-Ease refreshing body cloths to soldiers to use when in a no-shower situation—they have been very grateful.”

This year, EYE PRO created their 8-page ‘Tanner’s Guide to Eye Protection’ to help salons convince tanners to wear eye protection.  “We were thrilled to be able to provide this valuable reference guide absolutely free to tanning salons,” EYE PRO president Brenda Fishbaugh said.  “We’ve put over two decades of research and working with ophthalmologists into a handy booklet for salon staff—and it’s now available FREE to tanning salons.”

“EYE PRO’s leading charity has always been helping endangered animals,” states Renee Lofland, Director of Customer Support.  “Our owner, Brenda Fishbaugh, went to Kenya in 2009 to help stop the slaughter of rhinos.  They are killed because their horns are used in traditional medicines.  Brenda, and her husband, Steve, quickly realized that a little bit of money went a long way in protecting endangered animals.”  Able to make a real difference, Fishbaugh and her husband are heading back to Lewa Reserve in March 2012.

Fishbaugh has once again made a large contribution to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.  “We feel very lucky to have one of the Top 10 Children’s Zoos in the country right here in Fort Wayne, Indiana,” explained Fishbaugh.  “It runs 100% on donations—the state does not support Indiana zoos.”  To bring more awareness that a portion of every sale goes to help endangered animals, EYE PRO has created a collage so salon customers will know their contributions.  To get a signed 8 ½ x 11 animal poster to hang in your tanning room, go to EyePro.net/Promos and use the code word “collage.”

October 2011

Right now is a great time to begin training your team. “Why so early?” you ask. The reason to start training in October is that there is so much information to take in, that if you spread various trainings out over a few months, your staff will better retain the information. Another reason is that many training sessions are available online.

We all know that sitting at a computer all day is tedious, so breaking the learning up into small, interesting segments makes it more fun. There are so many topics you can have your staff learn – how to properly sell and deliver an airbrush session, why eye protection is critical, how to sell tanning lotions, how to handle customer objections, all about your equipment, your salon procedures – and that’s in addition to learning about your extensive lotion lineup…click here to continue reading or to download a PDF of entire article.

September 2011

“Do I really need to wear eye protection when I tan?” Indoor tanners have asked this question of salon operators since indoor tanning began. Unlike our skin, our eyes don’t have the ability to tan (and thus, develop no protection), so they can suffer many types of damage from UV exposure. Here’s a quick-reference guide to what can happen to unprotected eyes over-exposed to UV light…click here to view or download PDF of entire article.
